This course takes place on Friday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm. These sessions are intended as a follow-up to the first year’s “Introduction to Duplicate Bridge” course.

The objective of the “Improvers” course is to give students sufficient confidence to enjoy this fascinating game as a member of one of the many Bridge Clubs in the area; many, however, will wish to experience a further year in this group. The course is designed as a follow-up to the ‘The Introduction to Duplicate Bridge Course’: it may be suitable for players who already have Bridge Experience with the ACOL bidding method.

The format for all lessons is approximately 30 minutes of interactive classroom learning followed by supervised play. It is not necessary to have a bridge partner to attend this course

The distribution of course material will be via email and members who do not have access to email are expected to have a friend who is able to pass course material on.

Entry Requirements for Improve Your Duplicate Bridge:

Members should have completed the first year “Introduction to Duplicate Bridge” course or have Bridge experience with the Acol bidding method - check with the Group Leader. They are expected to be competent in the use of bidding boxes, able to complete a traveler and be familiar with the Acol bidding system. They are also expected to be familiar with the rules and etiquette of Duplicate Bridge.
