The Committee normally meets monthly between September and June (excluding January and August). If you need to contact a Committee member, contact details can be found below.
The Committee manages Fleet U3A. It is the governing body and the Board of Trustees for the purposes of Charity Law (Fleet U3A is a registered Charity). The Committee is responsible for the strategy and policies of our U3A and deals with the administration, management and control of the affairs and property of our U3A. Information about the composition of the Committee, how members are appointed and their terms of office can be found in the our U3A Constitution. Details of what each role entails can be found here.
We are continually looking for new people to join the existing team. An evolving mix of experience and fresh ideas will keep our U3A thriving for years to come so we can continue to support all the great activities we offer our members. The Charity Commission produces a useful pack of information for existing Trustees and those who are considering whether to put themselves forward for a Trustee position when an existing member's term of office comes to an end. Honorary Life Membership
Members of Fleet u3a who give their time and expertise over many years and significantly in addition to what is expected of every u3a member may be offered Life Membership of Fleet u3a. As an example, since the 2016 update to the constitution, members who have served as trustees on the committee for six years or more may be offered Life Membership. Life Membership can only be awarded by the committee of Fleet u3a.
