There is no Visits Group as such. Our Visits team organises visits and outings, which any member of our U3A is very welcome to join, subject only to there being sufficient space on the trip.
The Visits group organises various activities throughout the year. This includes visits to stately homes and gardens, theatre trips, Xmas parties and numerous other things. Please note that non-members are not eligible on any visit. External u3a members are eligible.
See below for details of upcoming visits and how to make a booking.
Please go to "potential future visits" to find out more.

The visits team aim to give a varied programme through the year. Gardens, Stately homes, Castles, theatre, and museums.
Our overnight stays offer so much more, as we explore venues that we would find too far to travel to for a day trip. Recent visits have included Denby pottery Derby, Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh Castle, Grace Darling Museum, Durham, Richard 3rd Museum, Royal Mint Cardiff, Liverpool, Birmingham, Lincoln, Cambridge, Dover to name a few.
Over the years visits have seen some wonderful places, had fun, laughed and learnt so much. Come and join in the fun on our trips booking is at the Monthly meeting usually 2 months before the trip, there are exceptions. Newsletter and Beacon announcements inform everyone of any new visits, and our web site will be updated as well.
BOOKINGS:
Please note that non-members are not eligible on any visit. External u3a members are eligible.
Members who are interested in a visit can email or phone the visits team to express their interest. They can also put their name down on an "interest list" available at monthly meetings. This enables the visits team to gauge the level of interest and decide on coach numbers and pricing, etc. Expressing your interest at this stage does not guarantee that the visit will go ahead or that you will have a place.
At the first monthly meeting after pricing has been finalised places will be offered on a first come first served basis to those attending that monthly meeting in person. They will have to provide -
- membership number, contact phone number (both landline and mobile) and an email address
- payment (see below) in cash, by cheque or provide bank details if making a BACS payment
A waiting list will be maintained when necessary. Inform us if your circumstances change and you wish to be taken off the list.
PAYMENT:
- Payment should be made within two weeks of booking by bank transfer, cash or cheques (payable to ‘Fleet & District U3A’). Driver’s tip and parking are included in the price.
- No acknowledgement of Bank Transfer receipts from a member are issued by the Visits Group, Members need to check their own bank accounts to see whether a bank payment has been completed.
- Members who pay by BACS must email the Visits team to confirm that the payment has been made.
REFUNDS are made ONLY IF places can be sold on. This applies to all visits unless cancelled by Fleet u3a.
