The Data Protection Act 2018 is the UK's implementation of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The Act controls how your personal information is used by organisations, businesses and the government, and requires that we must:
- understand and tell you on what lawful basis we are collecting, storing and processing your information
- let you know who you can contact to find out what data we store about you and how you can amend or ask for the deletion of that data
- keep your data as secure as is feasible given our structure and methods of operation
- ask you for your consent if we need to pass your information to a third party, for example, to the Third Age Trust so that they can post subscribers the Third Age Matters magazine
These points are covered by our Data Protection and Privacy Policies. The Committee has also prepared a 'legitimate interest assessment' setting out the reasons why Fleet and District U3A requests ‘In Case of Emergency (ICE)’ details.
Annual Accounts
As a charity we are required to have our annual accounts reviewed by an independent examiner and then submitted to the Charities Commission after being approved at the Annual General Meeting, normally held in November each year.
Annual Accounts, including the report by the Chair to the AGM, can be found on the Charity Commission website
Minutes of Meetings
Members may obtain the minutes of the monthly Committee meetings upon request to the Secretary.
